Bloomberg: Apple is codenaming their 2027 special AI chip "Delos"

Apple is skipping the strong versions of their Mac's M6 series this year, in favor of an expanded M7 lineup in 2027 focused on strong on-device AI capabilities. The M7 chip is codenamed... Delos. Someone in Apple is a Westworld fan?

Hot take from a former Tahoe hater: I like it now

I avoided Tahoe since it came out. The lack of compact tabs in Safari, the inconsistencies in corner radius, the bugginess, and the weird lack of transparency in the sidebars (a design element I really liked ever since Yosemite), I had no reason to upgrade.

But when my Mac died last week after 6 years, the new Mac I bought of course came with Tahoe. And let me tell you, I don't get the hate now. Liquid Glass is stunning on the Mac, Compact tabs in Safari came back, I encountered no bugs at all so far after a week of use, and I was shocked to learn that the sidebars have "background color bleed" effect that is just absolutely beautiful, AND in apps like Keynotes it has both the color bleed and the transparency of what lies under the sidebar itself.

Surprisingly I can even still change app icons so I made iWork to look like in Big Sur in the case of Pages and like the unreleased Liquid Glass iWork icons for Keynote and Numbers, and literally the one thing missing is the corner radius issues, which will be solved after Intel-based apps support will be dropped in the next version.

Unlike iPadOS 26 which is the worst OS I've ever used, and iOS 26 which I like but I can't deny is very buggy (especially iWork), macOS Tahoe turns out to be the best OS Apple released this year, completely the opposite of what I believed by reading complaints on Twitter. Go try it.
