Senior care, hospital volunteering?

Hello dear residents of Burnaby 👋
Im looking for some opportunities to help seniors in the city, to learn about care and friendship.
Could someone recommend a place to volunteer?
Thank you!

How to get my parents to use the dishwasher??

Is it just me or do Asian households not see the necessity of using a dishwasher??? My parents get sooo stressed doing dishes at the sink but they refuse to use the dishwasher! I tried convincing them but they don't see the need to use the machine. If they would just use the dishwasher they'd be less stressed and have more time to relax and have tea or something….but it's impossible! Has anyone succeeded in convincing their parents to use a dishwasher? Lol

Seeking your wisdom….

I fail fail fail every single time and I began to realize that it is not just the addiction alone but also—maybe most importantly— the deep psychological realm/territory/archive that keeps an addict in the dreadful loop. I also read somewhere that to find the root desire/cause of an addiction is to look into psychology behind addiction.

Worksheets online seem too vague… can someone please suggest ways to remove addiction from an addict’s life? Does therapy, or even hypnosis actually work?

I just want to take my brain out, reset, reprogram it to just live without addiction….

Please generously share your wisdom…

Thank you!!

Prof never replies…

I was in a very good standing with my professor until I graduated. I was one of the hardest working students from the department and one of the top students. (Not to brag but objectively). I wanted to thank my professor after graduating because they encouraged me to study again, I previously went through a very difficult time and wanted to quit my studies. I am truly thankful for all they did for me and they are one of the people that matter in my life. They are more than a university professor but more like a life teacher…However, after graduating, he cut ties with me completely. I received no responses from them , including a request for reference letters… I honestly don’t know why. I mean, they are known for not responding to emails, but he’s never ever ignored my emails before. Should I reach out and directly ask? Do professors usually ignore students when they graduate?

I would like to live elsewhere (currently based in the us) where the art economy is good… meaning good fundings, active art scenes, and overall, reasonably affordable. Could you please recommend some places? Im not well-traveled and don’t know much about art scenes other than where i am from. Thank you!

From what I understand, there are several philosophers who generally condemn revenge. Are there philosophers who actually encourage or even justify revenge?
