Sff GPU upgrade?

I currently have a pc I use for gaming which is running with a Ryzen 5 7600, 32gb ddr5 6000, 2tb Nvme storage, and a Rx 7800xt. I planned on waiting 5 years before upgrading the gpu and I bought it 2 and a half years ago but now with prices continuing to rise Im worried about waiting. I want to be able to play Forza horizon 6 at 1440p ultra with rt on which looking at benchmarks from techpowerup, it looks like Im likely to get around 43fps. I also want to play gta 6 when that comes out at decent settings. Would it be worth dropping $750 on the Rx 9070xt to get the 40% improvement in raster and larger In rt?

Should I Upgrade?

I also want to play gta 6 when that comes out at decent settings. Would it be worth dropping $750 or $950 on either a 9070xt or a 5070ti?

Ryzen x3d upgrade

I have a pc in the KXRORS s300 which is currently running a Ryzen 5 7600 and a Rx 7800xt. Currently I have to cap my cpu to 65 watts ppt and run -20 curve optimizer and it still runs up to 73°C with spikes as high as 78°C. Noise is okay but I’m wondering if it would be worth going to a Ryzen 5 7600x3d. I heard that the x3d chips use less power for slightly better performance.

Should I spend the $350 to get the x3d chip, or should I just stick to what I have?

SKTC A07 Portable Gaming Rig

I build this computer right before ramagedon began so I managed to build it for right at $900. This build was meant for when I want to play games on my break at work or if I wanted to travel but couldn’t bring my full sized pc.

Here are the specs:

Case: SKTC A07 4.3L
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550i Aorus Pro AX
Psu: Metalfish 500w modular flex
Ram: 2x8gb ddr4 3600
Storage: Teamgroup Mp44l 1tb + 480gb Nvme laptop ssd
CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x
CPU cooler: Thermalright axp90-x36
Gpu: RTX 5060

While gaming I run the 5060 at 75w power draw which gives me about the same performance as a RTX 3060 while staying absolutely silent and under 65°C. It can be pushed to full performance but it gets loud and runs closer to 70°C. The cpu also had to be cut back to stay cool and quiet, so im running PBO with a 55w ppt and -20 co. It stays below 70°C and is very quiet.

Overall it does exactly what I wanted it to and Im glad I built it when I did.

S300 mini ITX build

I had decided it was time to downsize my main build from my 32L mATX case and get something that would actually fit on my desk!

Cutting right to the chase here are the parts:

Case: KXRORS s300
Case fans: Thermalright TL-C12015B + Thermalright TL-9015B
Psu: Super Flower COMBAT SFG 850w
Motherboard: Asrock B650i Phantom Gaming
Ram: GSKILL Flare X5 2x16gb DDR5 6000
Storage: WD SN770 2tb
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
Gpu: Radeon Rx 7800xt

I did some undervolting and power limiting on the gpu and actually gained performance from a -75mv with -10% power limit.
CPU was set to the 75°C -40mv PBO preset.

Temps and noise were great with the gpu never passing 66°C and the cpu staying around 70°C while gaming. Noise was only audible when I turned off my game sound and still barely unless I got close.

Overall a great build Im happy with and one I wanted to share.

Ps. One of the pictures is it next to my velka clone portable build.

Mock-up S300 itx build

I received the case today and really didn’t want to wait for the power supply and cpu cooler to come in, so I did a test fit with the components I do have. The Gpu was a lot harder to get slotted in than I thought it would be and I had to trouble shoot a bit to figure out that the riser doesn’t properly lock into the motherboard, but other than that it works like a dream! 😅
