Divoom’s routinely over-reaching censorship
It’s very frustrating to put in the work on a new animation or find a design that you are excited to share, take the time to upload it into Divoom’s gallery and then they just ignore it, or worse yet when it’s approved and then they go back and hide it without notifying you, leaving you to wonder why it isn’t getting the attention you expected. This has occurred more times than I can count and while previously I would take the time to challenge the dismissal, last night was the last straw, so to speak.
Long story short, after yet another upload (with no adult-content) was not approved I messaged Dida/Divoom and said “if you are going to continue to not approve my uploads based only on your delicate sensibilities, simply say so and I will leave the platform.” They chose not to respond, but hearted my comment so I’d know it was read. The next day, 2 more of my uploads were skipped in the approval process and I’d had enough.
So thanks to my followers for the nearly 100K likes over the history of my account, but unless and until there is significant change, no new content will be forthcoming from me (which is a shame because I’ve got a lot I was excited to share). And to prospective users, you should be aware that your images- even when they contain no adult content- are subject to censorship if Divoom decides they just don’t care for them. You will likely not receive any information regarding this practice so if sharing artwork is important to you, stay vigilant.
Thank you.
