What are some unconventional things you do or stopped doing/buying?

I’m not talking about not buying holiday decor or clothes, but things that you’d tell someone and they may judge you for it or question how or why!

Help me not get swindled!

I’m 27(f) that knows nothing about cars and car maintenance gives me anxiety because I’m afraid I’m going to be taken advantage of. I have a bigger maintenance coming up and just want to get a general idea of what things should cost. I’m going to the dealership for the recalls (I know, I’ve been putting it off since 2023). I usually don’t go to the dealership but it would be nice to just drop the car off and get everything I need to get done, done. My car is almost at 75k, 2018 Honda clarity touring.

Recall I’m getting done:

2018-19 Clarity Fuel Pump Mtr Saf Recall Exp2
2018-21 Clarity PHEV A/C Condenser Warranty Extension

Service: A0127

- the dealership actually has a cheap oil change ($40)and free tire rotation.
-how much is the inspection?
-“2” is the pollen and dusk filter. Is that the cabin air filter? Just buy these on Amazon and do it myself?
https://www.amazon.com/clp/B0BTHH795B
-“7” is the brake fluid replacement. How much should this cost?

I live in a medium COL city! Any other advice?

Best friend just lost her home to a tornado

A tornado just went through my city and my friend’s place got hit. The roof is completely gone and it’s going to continue raining for the next week, so all of their belongings will be rain damaged. It’s not safe for them to go in.

I’ve offered my home for as long as they need, but they’ll probably be staying with her family for the time being. And I’ll see if I can deliver food, they only live 20 minutes away from me.

I would love to give her and her partner useful and cozy stuff to get her mind off of what happened. Has anything happened to you or someone you know? What was the biggest help through this time? Care package recommendations?

I got my wisdom teeth out last Wednesday. For the bottom ones, the holes are huge and I get SO much food stuck in them. I called my dentist and they said that’s normal and to only syringe 3 times a day. But it takes me several syringes after every meal to get all the food out. I cleaned out pasta that was days old when I was first allowed to syringe. Also, when I look at the holes, they look like and feel like super deep black holes.

Also, I’m still in a lot of pain. I wake up in the middle of the night in pain and I think it’s getting worse. It’s not radiating pain though. I don’t know if that’s normal because I’m 26f.
