peace lily water guidance

hi everyone !! i recently bought my first ever peace lily a week ago (24th september), it sits on my desk (east facing window) & in the mornings, when the sun has a couple rays on my desk, i position it so it can sunbathe for the little time the light is there

i watered it for the first time (28th september) after which i noticed the leaves immediately perked up. however, today i noticed my plant has considerably drooped once again & my flowers have been looking strange.

i did a little research & droopy leaves indicate a lack of water & that i should check my soil. i haven't repotted it so the pot is the same one from the nursery & appears to have ample drainage. my soil appears to be dry but i'm wondering if i could possibly overwater it if i water it now since not much time has passed since last watering session. additionally, flowers looking strange indicate that they're simply going through a life cycle & that i must trim them once they turn brown.

i'm used to cacti & other such plants that require little watering in their routines so i'm worried if my peace lily is getting the care it deserves. thank you so much for any help & feedback 🩷
