


Quality Issues with New Instruments
I recently ordered a Moog Messenger and an Ableton Move. Both new but with quality issues.
Moog Messenger: New product ordered from Amazon. The left page button was faulty. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. I requested a replacement. Amazon sent me a renewed product by mistake. This one was perfectly fine but since it was a renewed product, I got a partial refund and kept it.
Ableton Move: New device ordered from Ableton. It looked fine at first. As I started jamming, I noticed a stain. I couldn’t get it removed. It turns out it’s a small cut in the pad which is disappointing for a new product. I was afraid it might tear if I keep using it. Another issue that shows careless QA is the uneven cuts of the edges around pads. So I just contacted Ableton’s support and requested a replacement. I will update here as soon as I hear back from them.
I ordered 2 new products and both were defective. How common is that? This is so disappointing to see such quality issues from big names. It kills the excitement and the return process is so frustrating.
