I automated the two most tedious daily admin tasks at work (photo sheets & receipts). Need feedback on UX & pricing.

Hey everyone,

I was completely fed up with the tedious, repetitive admin work at my day job. So, I started building a small side project to solve my own problem. I’m not a professional developer—I slowly learned to code through YouTube and wikis, and recently, modern AI tools helped me accelerate development to reach the finish line.

I handle construction site administration, which meant dealing with an endless stream of site photos and daily expense receipts. Every day, week, and month, I had to compile progress photos into structured reports. Worse, I had to tape corporate card receipts onto physical A4 sheets one by one, scan them, calculate totals, and send them to HQ.

It was draining, and it took time away from actual high-value work. I eventually managed to hack together some scripts that ran in the terminal. When a colleague at another site struggled with the exact same routine, I shared my code and showed him how to run it. The very next day, he bought me dinner to say thanks. That was the moment building software clicked for me, and with AI handling a lot of the heavy lifting, I turned it into a full web app called "imgsheet". (Per community rules, I won't drop direct links here, but you can find it via my profile.)

Key Features:

  • Photo Sheet Generator: Drag-and-drop photos into ready-to-print A4 grid layouts (2, 4, 6cuts or Before/After modes). Automatically pulls and stamps EXIF capture dates and GPS locations.
  • Smart Receipt Organizer: Drop receipts (images or PDFs) to parse amounts, merchants, and dates into structured expense reports.
  • One-Click Multi-Format Export: Generates pixel-perfect PDF, Excel (.xlsx), and Word (.docx) files ready for submission.
  • Privacy-First (Zero Data Storage): Layout generation and photo handling run 100% locally in your browser. Sensitive documents and photos are never permanently stored on my servers.
  • Fully Responsive: Optimized for both desktop and mobile workflows.

My coworkers love using it, but most are older and non-technical, so getting actionable product or business feedback internally has been tough.

The core utility works and saves real hours, but like many solo builder/developer-types, my biggest bottleneck is marketing and distribution. Before spending money on ads, I’d love to get objective, no-BS feedback from this community.

I’d especially appreciate your thoughts on:

  1. First-Impression & Value Prop: Does the workflow communicate its core value within 5 seconds of landing on the page?
  2. Pricing Model: I’m considering a hybrid model (usage-based credits for AI parsing + monthly subscription). Does this feel balanced for a micro-utility tool, or does it feel like too much friction?

Current Status: I recently finished internationalization (supporting 10 languages) and polished the UI for desktop and mobile.

Tear it apart—UX, copy, business model, or positioning. Brutally honest feedback is very welcome. Thanks for reading!
