I'm moving to a smaller apartment and I need to downsize my PC
Hello guys!
I’m moving to a much smaller apartment soon and need to downsize my PC. My current setup is a quite large mid-tower (~55L), and I need my new build to be at least half that size without sacrificing performance. As you can see in the photos, there is a lot of dead space in there, and for sure things can be optimized. I'm very happy with my current specs, so the goal is to reuse as many parts as possible. Here is my current setup:
- Case: Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB (~55L)
- MB: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II ATX
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
- GPU: AMD Radeon RX7900XTX Saphire Nitro+ 24GB VRAM (320mm Length)
- CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 chromax.black
- RAM: Corsair LPX 4x16GB DDR4 3600MT/s
- PSU: Asus ROG Strix 1000W ATX (180mm Length)
- Case fans:
- 3-Pack BeQuiet 140mm RGB (Ideally I can reuse them)
- 2x160mm intake and 1x140mm exhaust fans came with the case and will be sold
Preferably, I want to change only the motherboard and the case.
For the motherboard, MicroATX is in my mind the perfect option. I would love to have onboard WiFi and (in a perfect world) a 2.5Gb Ethernet port. If you have any AM4 MBs in mind with these criteria at a decent price, I would love to hear your suggestions.
As for case alternatives I have the following two in mind so far:
- Lian Li A3 mATX - is the right size at ~26L, and technically would fit all my parts, except a few fans. I'm just a bit worried about airflow and temps (especially for the GPU) since the cable management options in this one are very limited
- Asus Prime AP201 - it's alright, airflow is great and it looks good, however, at 33L it doesn't seem like a big enough difference compared to the mid tower I already have, and is very likely not worth it
Do you have any other options in mind? If they have a wooden panel in front it's even better. I don't care that much about having a glass panel, airflow and temps are more important than anything.
Thank you!
