I'm only just hearing about this but I knew about OCPS school closures. From what I understood, the closures were due to enrollment but holy shit this is reprehensible. A company that's worth almost 180 billion usd quibbling over paying taxes (yes, I know the fight is over whether or not the taxes were excessive) that's causing mass job layoffs, loss of community and familiarity for students, and major loss of resources for OCPS in general.

I saw one post about the Zuru Nook Nooks here and thought it might be okay to vent. If not, no worries and please remove.

A week ago, my Target had the display up and six boxes out. I grabbed one because the samples were cute. I got the capybara washing machine. Super cute. No complaints. I typically buy blind boxes based on how happy I'd be to get any of the toy inside. All of the Nook Nooks are winners so it's an easy decision.

I went yesterday to do some grocery shopping and the display was 100% full. Felt like the odds were pretty good that I wouldn't get a double. Unfortunately, I did. I went back today because I needed to pick something up I'd forgotten yesterday and thought, "I should just snag another one. It's only thirteen (13) bucks." I walked over there and whole display was wiped out.

It's dumb to feel upset about it. It's a stupid plastic thing among all the other stupid plastic things I have. But the reseller thing is just so frustrating. I get we all have to suffer under capitalism but geesh this was disheartening. Less than 24 hours and the whole thing was just gone.
