this stuff is nightmare fuel

taper failed. i started calling out of work from how uncomfortable i started getting. seems like im stabilized on around 1000mg. so from what i’ve read. you can safely lower the dose 100mg every 1-2 weeks. has anyone else had success with this route and able to come off. i want OFF this medication and it seems like this time i was on too high of a dose for too many years and my CNS has adjusted. :/. this is horrible

went from cold turkey to an 8 week taper plan

so i’ve posted on here several times over the last week and i have gotten so much helpful useful information.its much appreciated and for that reason i wanted to post my updated plan and hopefully get some feedback on if its the best course of action.

ive been taking 2-4grams almost daily for the past 3+ years. i had quit once before about a year ago because i had to in order to sit with ayajuasca and although i remember it being challenging it was nothing like my cold turkey attempt from last week. that was the most brutal insane chinese water torture ive ever endured and i only made it 4 days before i caved and crushed up a 600mg pill and swallowed it, anticipating sweet sweet relief after 4 long grueling days of sleeping 1 or 2 hours and not having eaten anything. the last time i quit i was successfull, did my ayajuasca ceremony and then IMMEDIATLY chewed up 4, 600mg capsules as soon as ceremony was over. i also noted that probably because of the MAIO inhibitor, these doses seemed to intoxicate me much more than normal and the amount of time that i had noticeable affects from the doses seemed to last much longer than it would normally. this stayed consistent for several days.

this time i am needing to detox for an ibogaine journey and i do not plan on getting back into this medication. i informed my doctor of my taper plan and the state of withdrawal that i was thrown into after attempting to cold turkey and he prescribed me liquid gabapentin. he gave me a taper schedule.
week 1 & 2 - 450mg 2x daily
week 3 & 4 300 mg 2 x daily
week 5 & 6 150mg 2x daily
week 7 100 mg 2 daily
week 8 nothing.

does this seem doable? any recommendations for adjustments to this?

i also may have access to some baclofen. i thought it might be most effective to utilize baclofen on week 8 on day 2 of not having any gabapentin at all and try to only use it for a total of 5 days in hope of not developing a dependency to that as well.

i just wanted to try to be as thorough and efficient as possible in hopes of NEVER feeling the way i had to feel last week when i was in the depths of hell experiencing that withdrawal. that was absolutely unbearable. thank yall so much for all of the advice and support. i wouldn’t even had a chance without it.

the wd was too intense.

so i posted a few days ago in the worst wd of my life. it lasted about 80 hours thats how’ long i made it before i caved in and chewed up a couple 600mg tablets. i am doing my best to create a taper plan over the next month getting my dose as low as possible and then jumping. for people who have tapered what would u recommen? i was on 3-5 grams most days and now i am just getting my dose as low as possible while stabilizing me and im gonna go from there. people who tapered. did it help?
