baby gift for a friend- waffled for ages on grout color but (for once) i’m glad i went with white

the baby’s name is Ruby, so i initially wanted to use all red flowers, but it ended feeling a little on the nose. so i went with a mix of warm toned floral pottery instead, from several different plates (plus an old tea pot for the tulips on the upper left and lower right- my favorite parts!)

i’ve been seeing good results with using acrylics to paint over grout lately, so i initially planned to grout with white then paint it darker, but I quite liked the white in the end. i’m happy with how it turned out, and it was fun to do something a little more creatively flexible than my last few projects!

feeling like an idiot– I was sent grey crystal EVO instead of translucent, and didn't realize until it was too late. I know painting the grout with acrylics is likely my best next step– any paint/technique recommendations?

I've spent weeks working on this photo recreation as a wedding gift for my brother-in-law and his fiancee. I've done several small mosaics in the past, but it's my first time doing something of this size and detail, and my first time using translucent grout (or so I thought.)

When I opened the container to grout this morning, I did think the Crystal EVO was oddly grey-tinted, but several of the how-to videos I had watched mentioned that it has a bit of a blue tint, so I figured the IRL color just hadn't translated to video. And that's how I accidentally grouted my mosaic with light grey grout instead of translucent.

I've done enough research within the sub to know that my best route is to paint the grout with acrylic paint – just looking for any specific paint recommendations from those who have done that before, and any tips given my particular color palette.

Bummed about the extra steps but appreciative that this community has already taught me enough to know not to panic too much. Just gotta make it happen in the next week.

Thanks all!
