Question about Vinyl

Hi! Thinking about buying the Vinyl Me Please version of the Waterfall II and was wondering if anyone can tell me whether the cover of this version is more matte and papery or more of a cardstock with a sheen to it (I don't know if there's official terms for this sort of thing, lol).

Interesting…

Maybe it’s silly… but in light everything Jim’s been open about in the last couple years with respect to his substance abuse, mental health, and so on, hearing the little “Jim’s an alcoholic” line at the beginning of this demo for the first time kinda struck me. Like I’m aware this probably just a very young Jim saying something playfully, rather than a serious cry for help, but hearing it in light of what we now know about how his life has played out kinda hit me in the feels. Jokes like that usually don’t come from nowhere.

Basically just title. The Nordics obviously have some very famous sovereign wealth funds - and there other similar funds in places like Alaska and Singapore - but can these policies be exported elsewhere and produce desirable outcomes? Mark Carney just proposed a new sovereign wealth fund for Canada today (albeit it looks a little more like a PPP). Is this a good idea?

Carney has just announced plans to create a national sovereign wealth fund. It will be professionally managed by an independent Crown corporation and will receive an initial investment of 25 billion. https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/article/pm-carney-announces-canadas-first-national-sovereign-wealth-fund/.

Like many NDP supporters, I have not really been a fan of Carney thus far. However, this idea has me really excited. I was honestly a little disappointed to see that Lewis didn’t emphasize sovereign wealth funds in his campaign. In my view, they’re a criminally underrated policy tool that has played a major role in making the Scandinavian countries what they are today (and were in their hey-day).

Figured I’d check in and see what people think about sovereign wealth funds in general and of this plan specifically. For those who don’t know much about sovereign wealth finds, I’d recommend reading/watching Matt Bruenig’s stuff on them. He does a great job of explaining just how impressive the Nordics are and how this can largely (but of course not entirely) be attributed to their reliance on sovereign wealth funds.
