Harry's characterization in fanfics

This might just be me and I'm sure there are plenty fanfics out there and I haven't found them, but Harry's characterization in almost all the fics I've come across gives me the ick. He is always so passive and awkward and it is so frustrating to read. It's like movie!Harry with some sass, not the book!Harry I look for. IMO, book!Harry is far different from movie!Harry. Movie!Harry is a side character in his own story. He is passive, quiet and doesn't have the edge and independence that book!Harry possessed. Book!Harry really grew in his personality from book 1 to 7. He was confident, charismatic, had an ego, had a sharp tongue, was witty, powerful and a natural leader. He also had real flaws like his hot temper, sometimes he was too insecure and other times too arrogant. And he was genuinely funny. But the Harry I come across in fanfics is way too awkward, passive, and a someone who blushes at every small insteraction. He is also the weird outcast when book!Harry was genuinely liked by half the school. DA leader, Qudditch captain, athletic, highly sought-after.. Movie!Harry would never be able to pull off something like that! Fanon!Harry is also constantly out-witted and out-sassed by Ginny which annoys me so much because their banter is teasing and flirting back and forth. Then there is also the "confident Ginny takes charge of flustered Harry" trope. I dislike that trope so much and it always turns me away from any fic. I like their banter going back and forth. And I really don't think someone like Ginny would fall for a dim-witted, passive, by-stander. She fell for the charismatic leader with a spine who matched her wit and passion. If she is fire, he is gasoline.

Edit: Apologies for the bad grammar 😅

Looking for a fic

I read like almost a year ago and I can absolutely not find it again. It has Auror Harry and Ginny is some sort of vigilante. The details are fuzzy but Harry finally catches her in an alleyway and they shag. It was ff.net and I cannot remember the name. It sounds weird here but that's on me. I have no idea how to explain stuff but trust me it was good 😭

Harry and Ron's bromance stolen by Dramione/Blinny community

Yk we talk about how the Dramione community robbed Ron's character and Ron and Hermione's dynamic. It's totally unfair and these fics only work when they make all characters OOC by giving Draco good qualities, taking Hermione's backbone and stealing Ron's literal core and gifting it to Draco. And they also have Blinny on the side which really hurts me as a Hinny fan, and they need to bash Harry by making him boring, insecure and clingy which are definitely not the traits of book!Harry. The point is, that both Dramione and Blinny only work when they ruin Ron and Harry because no one in their right mind will choose Draco and Blaise over Ron and Harry. Anyway, another huge problem of these fics, which is not discussed as often, is how they steal Harry and Ron's friendship and paste it on Draco and Blaise. I've seen actual fan works of Draco and Blaise being "brothers in arm" or "ride-or-die" or "brothers who show love by insulting" blah blah blah.. the thing is, that's how Harry and Ron behave! They are real friends who will insult each other but also have each other's backs! I am really bad at explaining stuff but I think you get the idea. Dramione fans are not leaving ONE thing. In the books, Draco and Blaise are not even proper friends. They are mostly sneering and see each other lowly. They won't even consider themsleves as friends. The "Slytheirn boys" part of the fandom is so delusional. Like you first steal the character, then the romance dynamic and now the bromance?! Draco's friends were Crabbe and Goyle, not Blaise and Theodore. Harry and Ron were one of the best bromances. The way they tease each other, they way they protect each other and the way they show their love. Our boys were robbed.
