What costs to expect to renovate 1930s house in Amsterdam?
Hi! I hope this question is allowed here. I'm looking for some advice on how much it will cost to renovate an old 1930s apartment. I'm getting divorced and this is one of the only way for me to afford staying close to my ex-partner and coparent. I am in Amsterdam but dont speak Dutch (i'm learning but still not confident in communicating in that), so I'm sure that will affect quotes too.
I read that it can be up to EUR 1000-2000/sqm, more likely EUR 2000/sqm in Amsterdam. I know it is hard to estimate but I would really like to have a rough idea of what to expect and see if this route is worth pursuing. The apartment is built in the 1930s, about 98 sqm across one floor and rated B energy wise. I'm not looking for build in works and carpentry, will just furnish with Ikea stuff, but would mainly like to
Install underfloor heating
Replace kitchen with an ikea kitchen with some upgraded appliances like Bosch and extra large freezer)
The apartment was previously a 3 bedroom but was converted to a 2 bedroom plus large bathroom. I want to convert it back to a 3 bedroom again and move the bathroom back to where it originally was. This will probably be the most expensive cost?
Renovate one small toilet
To save costs I might be able to do some part of the demolition myself. I am not handy but willing to learn and maybe some friends can help. The only good thing I have going for me now is that I have about 9 months to stay in my current place so I do have a bit of time for the renovations if I do pursue this route.
Thanks in advance!!
