PS2, Moss, and Bryant! Wtf

One thing I will not understand, Vegeta sees Goku and Gohan come out of the time chamber before the Cell games staying in super Saiyan like it's the natural state. Why didn't he attempt this on his next trip into the time chamber like they did? He basically just went back in and accomplished nothing instead when he should have copied them. Any ideas why he didn't?
