We Need an Interviewer Gurometer at This Point

Whilst listening to the Professor Jiang doubleheader, I couldn’t help but notice that Chris and Matt once again critiqued the interviewer nearly as much as the potential guru. It’s been a thing since the podcast started (e.g., Lex Friedman, Joe Rogan, etc.), but the pace seems to be accelerating.

Most recently, we’ve had the Jiang interviewer, the Hubbard interviewer, the McGilchrist interviewer, etc., whom all have seemed like sycophantic, money-grubbing charlatans in their own right. Perhaps in 2026, we’ve reached high time and a large enough sample for a higher-order confirmatory factor analysis of the Gurometer with the interviewers sitting at the level of G?
