Can my Husband's dropped felony cause issues?

I've had a public trust and a secret in the past then spent a few years in the commercial sector. Now I'm interviewing for a job where they will get me an interim secret that will eventually bump up into a TS. I personally, don't have a drug record. Tried weed a few times years ago but hated it.

Anyway, my main concern is 4 years ago when I didn't have a clearance, my husband would buy weed off this guy who lived in our neighborhood. They kind of became friends, or at least my husband would help the guy out with car repairs. One day he gave the guy a ride because the guy needed to get more weed but his car wasn't working. Turned out the place they went had cops staking out and this guy was shadier than my husband realized. The dude had cocaine on him but dropped it onto the floor of our car last minute and refused to say it was his. So the cop charged both my husband and this guy with cocaine possession. My husband swears he was innocent. I was so pissed, I didn't get involved other than to help pay for the defense lawyer.

My husband's lawyer was able to get the evidence surpressed on a technicality so the case was dropped. The DA lowered the charge to a disorderly conduct misdemeanor which they said would be nolle prosequi after a year of good behavior. The terms were met and recently Virginia is enforcing the clean slate law so it should be sealed - but I know it'll come up in this background check.

Is all that going to screw over my eventual TS? My husband has a good record, he's former Air Force, has had clearances himself (though those were held years before any weed use.) This was all out of character for him. After that happened, he never bought weed off the street again, only via medical license until now he buys the delta 8, 9 THC A stuff via the smoke shop. My husband says he's willing to quit doing that if he needs to if it'd help my clearance process but weren't sure how federal looks at the stuff that's available through smoke shops.

Is it weird to resend my resume after talking to the recruiter?

I had a recruiter reach out to me about a job on LinkedIn. (It's not a scam, I was able to verify)

I sent him my generic resume as I thought I'd be applying directly through the usual portal or whatnot. However, the job is unlisted on their website and it seems he's ready to send my resume to the project manager.

My generic resume is good. But I don't have specific tools mentioned and a few other points which would make it easier to see I'm a strong candidate. Would it be weird to resend with the resume more targeted towards the position? Or is it too late and I'll just mention my experience in the interview?

Does the DF in DFIR exist anymore?

Mainly wanted to discuss something I've noticed in the field.

I was recently laid off and have been navigating the job market. I was at my last job for a long time so part of my job hunt experience has been learning how divided the field can be. Many of the 'DFIR' style jobs don't care about forensics. I've interviewed at a few places - some DFIR consulting boutiques, some SOC IR teams and both freely tell me they 'dont do forensics here'. A lot of it seems to be because they have so many cases to manage (3+ a week!) they don't have time for host forensics, they are just getting the basics solved so they can move on to the next case.

Anyone else notice this? My last job I worked for a small MSSP so we took whatever case we could get. I loved it because I worked a bit of everything. But it seems to be a disadvantage in this market where most jobs would rather find someone who can do IR with a bit of DF knowledge or a place where they want someone who's only done digital forensics for litigation / LEO and don't want someone who's spent time in cyber.

Asking about being considered for another job?

I had my first interview for this company. It was a principal level role and the director/ hiring manager really seemed to like me. I'd love to get the job, but I also know it's going to be pretty competitive. The director even mentioned he went through quite a few resumes. I saw there's a senior position open, basically a step down. So I was thinking of asking the recruiter if I could be considered for that position if I don't make it through the next two interviews.

Is that ok to do? I don't want them to think I'm second guessing myself and should be in the lower role. I just don't want to miss an opportunity to get my foot in the door somewhere in this company.

Besides LinkedIn are there any other job search sites you recommend?

Been unemployed for a few weeks now. I've had decent luck job hunting on LinkedIn, but I'm noticing it's starting to slow down, especially considering how many places I've applied.

For some reason though, it seems all the forensic jobs are on LinkedIn. I used to be able to use Indeed and Google Jobsearch too but when I look now it's all old posts and not as many.

Is LinkedIn really the best place? Any other recommendations?

Ps if you know someone looking for a mid level - senior analyst I'd love to hear more!

Anyone know what it's like at KPMG?

I saw KPMG had a few manager roles open for their advisory forensics team. The work looks interesting/ broad so I was thinking about applying. Anyone know what it's like over there? I saw some really old reddit posts on it but curious if there's any new insight or if anyone has any experience in what the manager role is like.
