Why isn't Pauper a format we can queue for on arena?

If they support it regularly for midweek Magics (and presumably people enjoy it) why do they not support it as a normal game format? As someone who has grown VERY tired of the common decks in Standard, Historic, and Alchemy, it would be nice to play a lower power format where I'm not dead on t2-3 to some absurd combo. Some of us just want to play fair games of Magic where we actually make it to turn 5 and beyond, and get to consider combat damage and make gameplay decisions.

Is it just me or is The One Ring the least fun card to play against?

Regardless of format, I'm about as enthusiastic seeing it played as commander players when someone Armageddons or Cyclonic Rifts (I assume, I don't play a ton of commander).

Any time I play a combat based strategy in Historic, I end up going against people who just chain cast The One Ring, Sculpting Steel, return it from their gy to recast it, bounce it to recast it, etc and it's so deflating. Sure, I play mostly Bo1, but I still think it would annoy me if I was able to sideboard in hate for it.

Am I in the minority here? Do people just love this card? It's banned in Modern so it's crazy to me that it's legal in Historic, which feels like Modern with a few extra sets.

Looking for a nudge (no story spoilers)

I'm sitting at 74.8% truth uncovered and I have a very short list of mental notes left to be scribbled off:

  • >!Open 9 year doors!<
  • >!Open 9 puzzle boxes (I assume these contain keys to above doors!<
  • >!Open West Hallway door, Floor 1 (the triangles door)!<
  • >!Supercomputer!<
  • >!Help old woman see!<

I've >!unlocked every door in the house aside from the above listed, every tube, and 17 of 20 SCs. I've put the eyes in the statues of the minotaur, and purchased 2 of the gameboy games (lorelei and ilomilo)!<. I feel like I have scoured the house, but can't seem to find any leads for what I have left. I have >!half of the West Hallway puzzle (the painting in the courtyard)!<. I feel like I'm missing a crucial bit of info for the >!puzzle boxes!<, as I've tried every logical solution with the information I have currently and have yet to make headway. I've made many, many phone calls but that information didn't get me anywhere.

Due to the nature of puzzle games, there's obviously a lot that is hard to infer as far as progress, but any hint/nudge in the right direction for the things I have left would be appreciated. I don't want to google anything because I'm sure it would spoil everything.

Question about the games rules. (please no spoilers)

I have about 10 hours in the game and I'm very much enjoying everything about it. I got to Lorelei from Blue Prince recommendations, and I'm sad I put it off for so long (mostly because I wasn't sure I could handle the art style, similar to my issue with Obra Dinn).

For some reason I get really into the game for 3 hour sessions, then I don't play for 2-3 weeks. I have been tracking all my puzzle solving with a notebook from the beginning. Just as well, I jot down anything and everything I find potentially relevant.

I do not want any puzzle hints or game story spoilers, but I am very curious if maybe I have forgotten a baseline game rule somewhere along the way because my play sessions have been weeks apart.

The save system informs me that I'm roughly 40% complete, and I have yet to solve a single >!shortcut combination!<, nor have I even found a hint to these solutions. I'm curious if there are written (or unwritten) rules to these. It seems that the answers to most puzzles so far >!have generally been in the same room!<, but not always.

Without spoiling anything, can you tell me if I've even encountered a single solution to a >!shortcut door!<? Same question, but for >!the tubes? I've found several and I think I know HOW to solve the one next to the architect table, but the others baffle me!<.

So far I have:

  • >!visited the maze!<
  • >!met someone at the magic show!<
  • >!explained the vision to the fortune teller!<
  • >!turned in 4 script pages!<
  • >!unlocked the elevator!<

I know I'm probably very, very early on, but I'm enjoying the game so far, almost as much as Outer Wilds.

P.s How important are American Dollars? I'm down to 1 after >!buying all the figurines, meeting someone at the show, and purchasing a game from the Laser-1 Hotline!<.

P.s.s The >!hotel or "the last year" is HUGE. I've no idea how this house just keeps getting bigger lol!<

Has iam8bit ever restocked the desk mat?

I play Magic the Gathering and would give anything for that desk mat to be restocked. I'm so sad that I missed it the first go around.
