Recovered after a month
Just wanted to let people know about my experience with it and hopefully it’ll give people some hope. I got Bell’s palsy the night/morning Lindsey Graham died. There were a lot of things happening when I woke up in the middle of the night that made it very memorable for me and that was one of them.
Now less than a month later I am I’d say 90% fully recovered. Day 1 I couldn’t close my left eye fully and the first week I was using visine for it. My left nostril I couldn’t flare out anymore and my lips and smile were very weak on the left. I would try to gargle mouthwash and it would leak out of the left of my lips. It was like this for 2-3 weeks.
Now none of that is the case. I can wink with my left eye again. My left nostril flares out alongside my right. Mouthwash doesn’t leak out of my mouth anymore and my smile is more or less symmetrical. The evidence left I can see is that when I furrow my eyebrows the folds on the bridge of my nose is not the same as it was before. It folds less on the affected side. And I cannot quite squeeze my left eye shut with as much force as much as my right.
Hopefully this gives people some reassurance or hope. My symptoms were not as severe as some of you, like the droopy face, but it still seemed like a classic case of Bell’s palsy and I hope you all have swift and smooth recovery.
