Pulse Eight CEC Adaptor & 4k120 HDR10 - Now with more CEC!

For those of you asking about the Pulse Eight adaptor and HDMI 2.1. I found my TV's HDMI diagnostic mode. In the top right corner you see FRL 5 which equates to 40Gbps. So I might not be getting the full 48Gbps for HDMI 2.1 spec. I am significantly beating the spec of 2.0 which is 18Gbps.

This could be the adaptor, it could be the short 2.1 cable I bought to replace the 2.0 cable they ship with. It could also be that 10ft plus all that wont let me get to 48.

Either way, I'm at 4k120 HDR10 (no chroma subsampling) VRR. All the bells and whistles with the pulse eight.

I can confidently say that the pulse eight with a short 2.1 cable (6") does not impact my visuals. So I don't need a dedicated CEC HDMI line or anything like that as others have suggested.

I highly recommend folks pick one up if you haven't already. Yes it does 4k120.

Fractal Ridge Build + Nvidia & Gamemode

Hey guys, just wanted to put this out there. There appears to be a lot of misinformation around the status of Nvidia on the deck images. Yes, Gamescope is not as polished as I assume it is on AMD cards. But no, it's not game breaking and it is fully usable and a great experience.

I recently built a living room PC in a fractal ridge with a 5080. So far I have played and beat Control, Indiana Jones, and 007 First Light. It's been a wonderful experience. I even added the Pulse Eight adaptor and have wake on controller.

I can't promise this will work as well as it does for me with everyone. I suspect that a Blackwell card is probably required.

If you get glitches and artifacting, just remember that HDMI 2.1 is limited to 4k120. Pushing more, such as 144hz will cause issues. I have a 10ft amazon basics HDMI 2.1 cable, a pulse eight adaptor, and a replacement 6" 2.1 cable from amazon. (Pulse Eight ships with a 2.0 cable) This allows me to wake on controller with my xbox controller.

For those of you with recent Nvidia cards I suggest you all give it a shot. It's been amazing.
