free handed!

so I've always had this issue where my needles tarnish after a while. the picture here is a dmc needle and I've stitched around 5000 stitches with it but it starts tarnishing after ~4000 stitches. i had to change it because it becomes really uncomfortable to hold it and it also doesn't slide as smoothly through the fabric anymore.

I've also tried Bohin needles in the past but ended up having the same issue. i always wash my hands before stitching but is it because my hands maybe get oily during stitching or something? would gold plated needles help?

it's not that big of a deal tbh, just a bit annoying having to change needles so often. if you have any tips or needle recommendations I'll gladly take them :)

hi everyone!! i'm a bit new to posting on reddit but really happy to have found a cross stitch community.

i got back into stitching a couple weeks ago after a year long break and i thought i'd share the piece that i'm the most proud of!

the pattern is Girl's dream magic by Maria Brovko

there was a lot of color blends and backstitch but it was so worth it! i stitched another piece from Maria Brovko after that and i only have good things to say about her patterns :)
