My dad is currently fighting gleason 9 prostate cancer and going through a reoccurrence. He likely will start ADT and salvage radiation soon and the bills are piling up. He had an advantage plan that paid a majority last year but he was dropped to regular medicare this year and didn’t realize until it was too late to enroll in anything else. Is there any assistance available to these cases or any medigap plans that accepts cancer patients? Thank you!

My parents were on a medicare advantage plan thar was very helpful up until this year when the plan was no longer offered. They moved to normal medicare and the bills are piling up fast. Is there any gap policy that accepts cancer patients and is available outside of enrollment period? In arizona, pima county, thank you so much!

Dad is currently going through a BCR after prostatectomy 1/2025, his psa went from undetectable to 0.18 last month coming up from 0.09 4 months ago so rapid 3 month doubling time. Gleason 9(4+5) stage 3b positive margin 22 negative lymphnodes. His medical oncologist wants to wait three more months, I had researched and it seemed most places now recommend action under 0.25 psa for gleason 9 so I was very stressed and wanted a second opinion from Radiation Oncologist, who also recommended waiting more but was open to 1 month instead of 3 for psa and revisit if over 0.2. Currently sitting on a psa result because I am so scared to open it, I am worried am I pushing too fast is it better to wait until higher psa to avoid over treatment? I don’t want my dad to suffer but I also want his best survival odds, his cancer wasn’t caught in his original biopsy and I beat myself up for not asking for a psma pet scan and giving this monster 6 additional months to grow and I don’t want to miss something again due to not advocating more.
