Found one single bedbug, no bites on me, no marks on mattress or sheets
Hi everyone
I woke up today to find a bed bug on the pillow next to mine. At least, I think it's a bed bug. It was approx 5mm, reddish or brownish in color. Here's a picture I took while it was running away. Managed to kill it after multiple tries: it was full of blood.
However, I can't find any bite marks on my body. I have one spot that looks more like a mosquito bite (and I killed a mosquito the night before).
I took off all the sheets and bedding to wash at 60 degrees Celsius. I inspected the mattress front and back with a flashlight. No marks or stains or eggs or anything.
I even pushed away the bed to look under it. Nothing. Is it possible that this was just a hitchhiker ? I plan on steaming my mattress and bed frame when I get back home today.
What should I do next ?? Should I call an exterminator still ?? Am I panicking too early ??
