I used to use the old app, and I never had an issue getting matches. I have some really common interests (yoga, hiking, cocktails, breweries, bird watching, electronic music, etc.), my profile is filled out, and I have plenty of clear photos of my face & photos of me exploring those interests. I'm 33 and live in NYC.

My friend & I downloaded the new app on the same day (early last week). I thought I was just slow to get matches, but now I'm wondering if there's any chance my app is broken.

• I've gotten two waves/matches in the time that she has gotten 23 waves and had 8 conversations. Our profiles are not THAT different.
• When she goes through her people for the day, her app says something like "That's it for today!" Mine says that I have "seen everyone new," which has to be blatantly untrue living in NYC.
• If I click "Browse profiles you skipped the first time around," it shows me people I waved to.
• If I go onto the screen of people who waved to me, it gives me kind of a rude message that says, "Looks like it's just you!" And it tells me to broaden my filters, which are already set to a 30-49 age range and "nearby," rather than "close."
• If I do adjust my filters, even if I make it MORE narrow (32-40 for instance), it suddenly shows me new people. But on my friend's app, when she has gone through all of that day's profiles, that's it.

I just moved to a new neighborhood and really was excited to try to make friends in my neighborhood, but I feel really discouraged. Has anyone else had something similar happen?

Also, does this new app have AI profiles? I feel like in the past, everyone's bios were slightly unique, even if they had common interests. I'm coming across a lot of profiles that say basically, "Looking to make new friends that can develop into lasting friendships in the big city! Always down for exploring, laughing, making memories, and expanding my inner circle."

I can't imagine people are writing something that generic? And I'm not exaggerating it! In the past, the most generic profiles still at least said something like... "I've been in NYC for three years but need some new people in my life! I'd be down to get a coffee or try a new yoga class." But all these profiles wanting to "make memories" and "laugh" seem fake to me.
