Monthly expenses in Vilnius for an international student
Hey everyone,
I’m an international student from India considering studying at Vilnius University, and I’m trying to get a realistic idea of what monthly living costs would look like excluding tuition fees.
I’ll most likely be staying in university dorms, so accommodation should be on the cheaper side. I’m not trying to live luxuriously, but I also don’t want to survive on instant noodles and never leave my room lol
The kind of lifestyle I’m hoping for is something like:
- cooking/groceries as the main source of food
- eating out maybe 1–2 times a week
- studying in cafés a few times a week
- occasional parties/social events
- exploring Lithuania on some weekends
- maybe a short budget Eurotrip every few months
I’d love to know:
- What would a realistic monthly budget look like for this kind of lifestyle in Vilnius?
- What kind of part-time jobs are common for international students who mainly speak English?
- Is it realistically possible to balance studies + part-time work there?
Would really appreciate honest answers from current students or people living in Vilnius. Thanks!
