M22 Now almost 40kg 1.70m

Hi, i know 40kg & 1.70m sounds very unhealthy. and yes, it is unhealthy. I recently made a post here and ranted a little (i hope i shared the link correctly lol).

However, in my last post I had a little rant and told yall about my mental breakdown and my nausea when eating food. But I am very happy and proud to say that I didn’t give up (and I am obv not planning to) and I already gained almost 2kg and I’m so happy about this because I never really thought I could do that. I have been at 38kg for around 5 years now because everytime I tried to gain weight, I gave up when it got too hard. And now for the first time I feel like I am doing it right and more importantly: I don’t get sick when eating anymore!!! A few days ago I was at the point where I started crying when I saw the food on my plate & just 10 min ago I just finished a whole pizza with 900kcal and I am nowhere near feeling sick.

Anyways, the reason I am doing this little update isn’t because I want to brag. I just wanted to share what helped me:

First of all I need to make clear that If you are in a similar situation: Take your time. Don’t expect your body to go from 1000kcal to 2000kcal just like I did in the beginning. If u were in a phase where you didn’t eat very much your stomach probably got used to that. And that’s okay because it can be fixed. Just don’t pressure yourself. I think the reason why I used to get sick of food wasn’t only a physical issue. It was more of an mental issue.

When I saw the food I didn’t think about how nice it was or how it would taste like. In my head it was just like „I HAVE to eat this whole plate right now otherwise i will fail“. And let me tell you: No. You don’t have to do everything perfectly in the first run. It’s okay if you don’t hit your calories. What’s more important is that you keep trying and don’t mess with your mind. I know that sounds easier than it is but do not pressure yourself. At least try to. Your body will get used to the food, I promise :)

Anyways as I said here are some hacks that helped me:

- Wake up earlier. If you wake up earlier (8/9am) you have more time through the day to eat.

- Talk about your journey with a friend. Talk about how you win but also about how you fail. You need an anchor that has your back. And if you don’t have anyone feel free to DM me

- Try to drink shakes. I know that’s just what everyone says but it really helps after you get used to it. And I am not talking about those 1500kcal shakes. Please forget those. What worked for me is a shake with 2 bananas, 400ml of milk and some peanut butter. Take your time to finish the shake. When I made the shake for the first time I used like 30g of Peanut Butter so I wouldn‘t get sick. Now I doubled it to 60g and it works fine for me. Do whatever you feel comfortable with and don’t compare yourself with others. The shake has around 600-900kcal.

- Try to eat 3 meals per day + the shake. In the beginning it was very hard for me to eat lunch. I couldn’t eat anything because my body was so overwhelmed. But you have to slowly work towards eating more. If you need a week like me that’s cool, if you need a month that’s also fine, just keep going.

- Track your calories: I know, I hated when people told me this but it really helps ^^

- Drink softdrinks with your food. especially cold drinks helped me. what didn’t work for me was sprite. what worked well was redbull or coke :) The softdrinks can help you swallow your food.

- Take time with your meal. But spend take too much time with it. What do I mean by that? Don’t rush it but if you catch yourself spending more than 1h looking at your food like I did, then you are probably messing up with your mind. Just put the plate away then and go for a walk or sth

- going out for walks also helps while we’re at it. Get some fresh air and spend time with friends or sth :)

- Go to sleep early and don’t eat anything before going to bed. Also make sure to drink a lot of water especially before going to bed. that helped me a lot. Idk why but cold water did calm my stomach down.

- Do not eat to the point where you throw up. Eat til you’re full but don’t mess with your nausea. If you throw up the calories are gone :/ And also: If that still happens that’s normal. You just need to get a feeling for when you need to stop. Trust me, throwing up is my favorite hobby lol

- Last point but maybe the most important one: If you feel like crying or ranting then do it. My last post here helped me a lot. just letting all of that out felt so good. And afterwards you can watch some motivational reels xD

Well that is a long ahh post but I hope it helps someone. I’ll probably edit this if I have new hacks and i’ll re-read it again probably because as I said, failing is part of the journey, you just need to remember yourself that failure is okay and not a reason to give up ^^

M22 trying to gain weight 38kg

Hi,
i am M22, 170cm, 38kg and I am really trying to gain some weight. Before anyone says anything, yes I asked my doctor for help and he did some blood tests and x-ray and said everything is fine. And yes I am trying to eat more.

Here is the thing: I ate almost nothing for a long time. Like just 800 kcal per day or sth. Just one real meal and that’s it. Why? Because I was not hungry.

Now I am trying to gain some weight and eat more. I’ve been doing this for almost a week right now trying to hit 2100kcal per day but it is so hard. The first two days were okay, day 3 was a little bit harder and I ended day 4 throwing up and going to sleep. Now I am at day 5 and I ate almost nothing again. I had a few (4-5) spoons of cornflakes for breakfast and some apple juice (450ml). Then I was out with some friends and drank like 250ml of coca cola and 3 slices of pizza. And I was already full. And that’s how I feel every time I try to gain some weight.

I always fell hungry, my stomach even makes noises but as soon as I even THINK of food I get nauseous. When I came home earlier today I had an emotional breakdown. I started crying because it’s really frustrating. I know what I have to do but my body just won’t let me and I just don’t want to stay like that. Other than that I am rly doing good in life. I have great friends, i’m almost done with my degree and I have a job and a good family. That’s just the only thing that ruins it all for me to the point that I cry myself into sleep after throwing up. I just wanna have a normal body so i can go swimming without being ashamed of my bones and go to the beach and do cool stuff.

I really don’t know what to do and I don’t even know if anyone gets this or can help. I don’t even know what I am expecting from this post. I’m just so drained and depressed.
