is this a good idea for renter friendly catio?

hi all, i am currently in the process of turning my previously outdoor/indoor cat into just an indoor cat (not going great) and i want to give her a catio!

however we do rent this house and have upstairs neighbours with a shared garden that they solely look after (they are a retired couple and that’s what they want to do.) we do have a good relationship with them so i can’t see them saying no this, but i want to know other’s opinions of what i’ve designed. (i got very creative in procreate)

the neighbours go away for a month in september so i would want to do this then.

please let me know!

trying to transition my outdoor cat to indoor.

hi, I am currently trying to take my indoor/outdoor kitty and make her indoor only. she is 1 and a half. she has been going outdoors since she was a kitten I believe (I adopted her from a friend a while ago) and she is in the same house that she has always been in.

we live on a busy main road and lots of cats are being hit or going lost at the moment. also she is a skilled hunter and is hurting the local wildlife too much.

basically I have given her a litter tray (which she has used at this time) and food and water (of course) and she was absolutely FINE all day.

today is the first day of indoor life, and as I said she has been 100% fine all day, she TECHNICALLY went out when I went for a smoke in the garden, but as she usually does, she came and sat near me and when I was done she came straight back inside no problem.

here's where the problem is.

after her dinner she decided she wanted to go out. I played with her for ages, and ran around with her for a good half an hour, but now she's just crying and meowing non stop. I have shut the kitchen door so she can't see where the outside door is and she now just has access to my room, the living room and my housemates room (and her water, food etc.)

basically I just want to know if this is normal and if she will calm down. she is my first cat after being a dog owner all my life and I just want her to be safe and happy.

I have bought her a few interactive toys on top of the ones she already has and loves, and im gonna save and get her some taller trees or perches, and im planning on talking to my neighbours about installing a catio of some sort (renter friendly).

I just want my baby girl to be okay.
