First article that explains the Board drama.

This is the first article I have seen that gets to the nitty gritty. It does a decent job of pointing out the politics of it but lets you make your own conclusion.

I have no idea if it's accurate but even if 80% accurate it's more than I previously knew.

It's down to the Jet v Griz 13 planer/moulder. (Dug through the subs history and was surprised to not see a bunch of posty on these two. Lots of stuff out there on other pages but none of it is recent.)

Jet is 1900 and the Griz is 1200. Same horsepower and same size. The Griz gets some knocks online for motor alignment issues, vibration and noise but that seems to vary by year. That said it's not obvious to me why the Jet cost more.

(FWIW I have a mix of powermatic and Griz now but have never owned anything Jet and only have a general sense of thier reputation as opposed to Griz.).

Regardless, looking for opinions on both.

Tx.

Ever since Weber dumped thier briquettes (boooooo)) I've used and had mixed success with a variety of fuels till I settled in Kingsford blue bag which I have dialed in.

But. Can't find it locally right now so I picked up BB.

Doing two butts and looking for a little advice on how much to load and how long I should expect it to burn before I have to reload it.

It'll be going on around 10 pm aiming for 225.

Let me have it.

I've tapped out my brain. I'm working on ethical profficiency with a Mark V Accumark out to 700 yards.

It took an embarrassing amount of rounds to realize that my drifting to the left at range was due to the scope being a itty bitty wee bit out of erticle. I overcame the problem by a lengthy tap tap tap and shoot technique which is not ideal.

My method of mounting is the flashlight and plum-bob method. (That replaced the Weaver level kit.).

I have my sons Accumark to get rugged this summer and am looking for a better method.

MY QUESTION:

I came to understand that part of my problem is getting recticle orientation true to the rifle. And that is caused by the accumark not having a flat surface to accept a level to correspond to the level on the scope.

In the past I've tried two tricks.

  1. jiggered up an aluminum extension that comes off a portion of the bolt rail and sticks out enough to hold a level. Iffy at best.

  2. I've mounted the lower 1/2 of the scope mount, leveled that in my gun vise and then did the scope work. I find this iffy as well.

So, what are people doing to overcome that reality that the Accumark has no flat spot to pull level from?

Thanks.
