Peak District, UK

A windy night at the bottom of a clough – luckily I have storm doors on my new tarp.

Do you hike/camp via train?

I realised I take the train to one of the same four stations every weekend, so I’ve vibe coded a tool to find new places to hike via rail.

I’m looking for a handful of people who also travel by train to hike/camp to have a play about with it and let me know what they think.

===EDIT===

That’s plenty for now, thanks for your interest

I may post again at some point further down the line

River reaches

Does anyone have any further reading on reaches?

Screenshot is from the Aire near Temple Hirst.

Some of the reaches shown on the Aire and Ouse show up in some old books, but others return no hits at all on Google.

It looks like some rivers have named reaches, but some rivers don’t? At least on OSmaps – I can’t find much that isn’t about the Thames.

Are these fixed, antiquated names, like traditional field names, or are they more practical?
