Seen on the train from Liverpool Central to Southport this morning. Are there still plans to reinstate this line? It all seems to have gone quiet.

I heard that there were issues with the platform at Cressington not being long enough for the new fleet of trains, but thought this was being addressed by only opening certain doors at the station.
