Follow up question

Ok so a little bit ago I asked a question about a character I’ve been wanting to play for a while now. My concern then was if it would be frowned upon if I played a character of a different culture than me, general consensus was that it’s fine as long as I’m not weird about it. Which is lovely! However, my follow up question is that the character I want to play already exists in the world of Darkest Dungeon. And I don’t want to just completely lift him because that feels shallow. So would it be frowned upon if I just took his backstory comic, and asked my DM(if I ever find another one considering I’m DMing two games myself currently) if I could fit it into their world? Ergo, the pyramid displayed in the comic is somewhere in their desert continent. The patron itself shouldn’t be an issue though considering it’s more or less just ‘nondescript eldritch thing that’s either inside him or acting through him’. So my main concern would be how using the premade comic and general character energy would be perceived.

Kinda uncomfortable question

Ok so I’ve been wondering this for a very long time, I’m a big fan of Darkest Dungeon, and my favorite character in that game is The Occultist, or Alhazred. I’ve always wanted to make a DND character based off him, but I don’t know if it would he perceived as racist or not, considering I’m not Arabic. This is something I’ve really been wrestling with recently, is it weird to even ask this? I have no idea so I’m just putting it out there.
