How to deal with very rich people
The area that I live has all sorts of price points for homes. Ive been a realtor for 18 months now and I’ve found myself in a bit of a precarious situation when interacting with extremely rich individuals. The husbands for the most part are typically relaxed and level headed, but I’ve found that I have a hard time meaningfully conversing with the wives(not all, just a small demographic). For instance, a woman I was showing an 18 year old home to was near in tears because a board on the front deck of the home was off centre. The home was 5000 square feet with 180 feet of lake frontage, a private dock and had great workmanship throughout. The home itself is timeless, and a majority of the time they were there, she was rifling off unnecessary renovations that the home would “absolutely need” ahead of moving in. The home is magnificent. How do you relate to clients in general that are out to lunch and live in their own little bubble? I grew up in the high middle class. But some of these people are so hard to relate to. Any insight or experience on what has worked for you would be appreciated.
