Season 3 netcode “improvements” don’t match real gameplay — even on low ping
I’ve been seeing a lot of people blame ping or “skill issue” for hit registration and dying behind cover — but at this point, that explanation doesn’t really hold up.
I’m playing under pretty controlled conditions:
- ~20–30 ms latency
- stable FPS (no drops during fights)
- no packet loss
And I’m still consistently experiencing:
- delayed damage after shots clearly land
- deaths after reaching cover
- inconsistent hit registration in close-range fights
This isn’t just a one-off either — it’s reproducible across multiple official servers.
What’s confusing is that the Season 3 patch notes specifically mention improvements to:
- hit registration consistency
- delayed damage
- “reduced cases of dying behind cover”
But in practice, it either hasn’t improved or feels more noticeable now.
I even posted a full breakdown + clip on the official EA forums:
An EA Community Manager acknowledged the issue and said they’re collecting patterns — which is good — but it also confirms this isn’t just isolated complaints.
At this point it feels like the update improved how the game *looks* (hit feedback, UI responsiveness), but not how it actually *behaves* server-side.
If players on ~20 ms are experiencing the same issues as players on 70–90 ms, then this isn’t just a latency problem — it’s a consistency problem.
It almost feels like the game is correcting state in bursts rather than continuously, especially during engagements, which makes gunfights feel unpredictable and out of sync.
Curious if other low-ping players are seeing the same thing — because right now, the core gunplay just doesn’t feel reliable.
See? It's been about two months and the developers still haven't shown any interest.
