Hi, I own my two degus for a while now and lately their nails have been very sharp, and when they jump onto me and walk on my arms i get scratched and it leaves marks. It's very uncomfortable for me especially for personal reasons but I like having them on my arms. I wanted to ask if trimming or philing degu's nails is something that can be done in a manner that wouldn't affect their life? Or maybe there is some other thing that can be done? I love my two bois very much and I just don't want to accidentally hurt them. Their age is around 4 months.

Hi, my around 13 week old degu had knocked out one of his upper incisors. It probably happened while he was chewing on a wooden house or cage bars. Should I be concerned? What should I look out for? I also want to mention that I don't really have a good way of going to an exotic pets veterinary clinic since it's far away and the earliest appointment could be in about 8 weeks. The tooth was missing for a few days and for now the bottom incisors are looking pretty even and the tooth appears to be growing back. I'm also monitoring his weight and for now it stays about constant. I'd be greatful for any advice.
