Transcription Tuesday #125 | Algo del Caribe (Isaac Eicher)

I just flew to the Netherlands and I am currently on the struggle bus staying awake as I try and execute some killer Isaac Eicher vibes on the mandolin. This song is so killin', go listen to it immediately here.

We have THREE spots left for Isaac's Mexico Mandolin Retreat! This is seriously your last chance to sign up before the spots are taken up. You get to learn mandolin from Isaac and yours truly AND experience a side of Mexico you've never seen. It's like the best things in life all wrapped up in one. And can we talk about the food? I already ordered two Mexican cookbooks so I know my stuff before I go...

So I guess I flew all the way to the Netherlands to tell you about a mandolin retreat in Mexico. Go figure.

Sheet music/tab are here.

Transcription Tuesday #123 | Banks of the Ohio (Dawg Solo)

The sun was shining in beautiful Marquette, MI this morning while I did my transcription for the week. This lil ditty is from Dawg's solo on Banks of the Ohio from the Tone Poems album. Can you talk about how good that album is?!

This solo was, uh, hard to say the least. First time transcribing my buddy Jacob Jolliff's stuff for Transcription Tuesday. The solo is from Jacob Jolliff and Michael Dave's new record called "We Like Jim & Jesse!", go check it out if you haven't!
