M13

I was wondering what to shoot during the period around the full moon, so I decided to give globular cluster a try.

I ended up with 20h of data as 5s, 10s and 20s. I went with a lot of short exposure to try to better resolve the core. I drizzled 2x the stack with Siril and processed the image in PI.

I like the mix of blue and yellow stars in the core. I can't imagine what the night sky would look like if earth was orbiting one of the star at the center! There, the density is 100 stars within a 3 light year cube.

M13 - Great Hercules Cluster

This is the first time I am shooting a Star Cluster and I have to say the outcome is better than expected. I really like the blue and red stars in the core.

This is about 10h of data taken with quite a bit of moon light. I took 5s subframes so not to saturate the core too much. I will try to add more data and to drizzle to see if that helps better resolve the stars in the core and reveal more of the outer fainter ones.

IC342 - Hidden Galaxy

Hey all, this is an edit of the Hidden Galaxy.

The data was gathered by the Seestar Collective, a group of Seestar scope owners based all over the world. We collected about 120h of IRCUT data taken with S50 and S30 scopes. We stacked it in Siril with drizzle 1.5x and edited it in PixInsight.

This galaxy is quite faint (hence its name) but given enough integration time, it emerges from its veil of galactic dust to reveal beautiful colors and features!

IC342 - Hidden Galaxy - Seestar Collective

To try to reveal this beautiful galaxy hidden behind a veil of stars and IFN, the Seestar Collective gathered about 140h of IRCUT data from a dozen different contributions.

The best 120h were stacked in Siril with 1.5x drizzle.

I processed this resulting stack in PI. I tried to emphasize the IFN present in the region and to pull out the Ha region that are actually quite prominent in this galaxy.
