Is this a positive interaction?

I have stayed a month im Zhongli so. Used to half of the time getting frowns.

Last day today with suitcase near the airport mrt am old woman at the lights says

Qu jichang ma?

I thought shw was offering a better way to get there or something.

Anyway i pointed to the mrt and nodded.

She says

Qu nali, meiguo? She has a sort of smirk on her face.

I shake my head, hanguo.

She says something with wan. So im guessing to play.

I nod as im only half sure and trying to figure out what shes getting at.

She turns around walks a second. I say xie xie Turns around again still sort of smiling and then walks off.

Usually theres an enjoy or bye bye in convos but nothing

Old woman doubled back to sit in front of me to put mask on

That was a bit bizarre, was sat on the airport mrt, you have the dark purple disabled seats either side of the door, opposite me.

She even walks past the ones infront of me destined for the other side of the gap of doors but sees me and actually decides she wants to sit on front of me, do some smirk towards me and i as always smile thinking they are being nice and say nihao. Just ignoring while staring at me and then puts on her mask.

I move and she gets off next stop no mask on

Sweeteners in everything

I just came back after 5 months away and the sweetener coffees have proliferated the shelves.

My favourite ediya choco mocha now 30% less sugar because they are now doing the crafty of thing of listing sugar at the top and sweetener at the bottom.

Zero products for everything else is becoming a crazy. No wonder my migraines started 6 days after arriving.

Using hajimemashite and an encounter with a japanese person

So i was taking the airport shuttle in korea and 2 japanese girls sit around me, i had a gift from kt sim card, some corn chip things that i didn't want and i practiced a bit of japanese, almost forgetting tabetai and trying to ask if they wanted it.

They were smiley happy to talk it seemed and not like the usually fake smiles. Talked about what their fav food and place is in Japan.

Then i was getting off before the next terminal which might be why they wondered why i got up and said hajimemashite because the girl opposite only nodded.

Im inclined to believe that they hated me now even though they had been happy talking.

Usually in japan they reply or maybe say bye.

I would hope i didnt ruin it, i try not to and i really want positive experiences.
