Sachuest Point advice
Hello, I will be vacationing in Newport this week with my wife and daughter. I'm the birder in the family, them not so much. I did want to at least have one day to explore the local nature and hopefully see some unique birds. I have been looking at Sachuest Point, but I have a couple questions. Are the trails difficult? Are there any biting insects that may be particularly bad this time of year? How is the birdwatching during early July? Also, would it be realistic to take an Uber or Lift from Newport? We hadn't planned on renting a vehicle during the vacation but rather just using ride share service and public transportation. I would definitely be up for other recommendations for birdwatching opportunities in the area. Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.
Edit: I guess what I'm looking for is someplace cool to spend the day with my wife and teenage daughter, that's not too difficult to get to from Providence or Newport, where I can still get my nature fix but not be too intense for them. I want picturesque views, unique birds that I can't see in Ohio and maybe a decent place nearby to grab some local seafood and wet our whistles.
