Open WebUi for writer

Hello,

thought is would be better to ask, because googling gives me lot of technical terms and I do not understand it.

So here is my situation: I have been writing novels and brainstorming ideas with chatgpt. Lately I've been getting anxiety about my lore and plots being on openai's server, and I want to get rid of that, so I have installed ollama and mistral, and I want to give open WebUi a chance, but I'd like to get this question answered like you would answer to an idiot:

If setup is made locally to my pc, and I use only ollama/mistral, does any conversation/chat/brainstorming/questions be sent onto external server, meaning away from my pc? Or does everything I write to Open WebUI stay in my pc?

Thanks for helping middle-aged man in crisis 😃

Novelmage help for idiot

Hi, Im asking possibly stupid questions about this, but I feel like asking is better than trying to google stuff. So, here is few ones:

  1. I have been using chatgpt for brainstorming and worldbuilding, but like others, privacy concerns me, so I'd like to get something what I can use offline. So I can really use this for that kind of stuff offline?

  2. I saw an article about installing ollama of LM studio with Novelmage, but why I'd want to do that? Does Novelmage work like AI at all without one of those?

I'm 50 years old and I like to write and brainstorm with AI, I do not want to lose my nerves because I do not understand difficult installing processes etc. Many times when I have tried to search and install a link what says "easy install" has guided me to github, and that is probably the most difficult page to understand what has been made under the sun. I can rebuild a car engine on kitchen table with screwdriver and ductape, but github recudes me to a drooling idiot.

Thanks for your patience
