Sleeping/Resting Position HELP

OMG I am 7 Days Post-Op and I am having a hell of a time trying to get ANY sleep! Pain is very manageable now, I can get up from the couch and lay back down pretty easy.

My problem NOW is that laying down like this (the wedge pillow still a life saver) is triggering pretty bad head sick feeling/vertigo and I don't know what to do! 😭 I nearly puked twice last night when my head turned the wrong way. I feel a bunch of pressure on the right side of my ear canal/back of neck (probably whatever ear crystals or something) and such. I am usually a side sleeper but can't really do that comfortably yet, so this starting to be a nightmare. 😫.

Did anyone experience this and manage to find a comfortable sleeping/resting position until they could go back to normal?

6 Days Post-Op... INSOMNIA!?

I have reached 6 days post-op! I went from being able sleep at any moment, to... Not being able to sleep at all!? 😂😭

I am currently figuring out how to fix my resting position because OH BOY the upper back pain last night as brutal. I got a wedge pillow being delivered today that I hope will help.

Aside from that, my appetite suffered yesterday and I have been having a hard time sleeping now. I stopped taking Hydromorphone as of 2 days ago, I suspect this may be partly a reason. I ALSO had been taking birth control up until surgery date and then stopped (no pills left either way).

Has anyone else had these experiences and have any advice or how long did this last?

I don't feel anything super concerning so I'm still certain I'm within range of normal surgery healing feelings. 😆

Normal Recovery Feelings?

Hello again! Today I learned is my ACTUAL 4 days post-op, lmao. I just wanted to know what feelings are normal during the recovery phase, because I have health anxiety and I figure it might help knowing what is normal and what isn't.

I guess most notably, because I have been laying down more often for rest in between walking for a bit every 2 to 3 hours, my legs sometimes feel a little achey when I'm laying down. I can get comfortable with them eventually, it's just annoying and I have been checking to make sure blood flow is good and such. 😂

The other then is sometimes since surgery, infrequently but randomly, my heart rate increases for a bit and then comes back down. Is this also a normal experience? I don't really have any concerning symptoms that I can tell.

Thank you in advance!

4 Days Post-Op, any advice?

I DID IT!! I was so scared but I've finally got my uterus and fibroids out and now I am 4 days post-op! Pictured is my current resting setup (the only one we could make really) and I wanted to know if it's suitable. It's been comfortable enough, obviously it's just annoying to have to get up and down when I need to move around, lmao.

I have Hydromorphone and Celecoxib for pain management, currently fighting off some morning nausea/lightheaded from the overnight dose of Hydromorphone I assume. Eating small snacks and sipping some water. I passed 2 large bowel movements last night. I think I may shower today FINALLY.

How often should I be getting up to walk around? I seen some say every hour, but that seems like it would be excessive and difficult given the position I need to rest right now. Another says every 2 or 3 hours?

I would love any advice and thank you in advance!

Surgery Booked - TERRIFIED!

So I finally got my surgery date scheduled! And I am both excited to have this over with because I am in pain and discomfort all the time now, and TERRIFIED! 😫 I have never had any operations before and I have presumably low pain tolerance, I'm scared of the gas pain and anything going wrong/complications.

I would love any advice and/or success stories and how anyone who has done this got through and are doing now! 🙏 What can I get that will make recovery easier, anything I should bring to the hospital? I believe I am going to be spending at least a night there.

Thank you in advance! ❤️

Left side under boob/rib bulging?

I've already been to about two walk-in doctors and my own family doctor and asked about this, I have a CT Scan on Tuesday.

Has anyone else experienced this? About a month ago I think, I noticed that the left side of my upper abdomen, under my left boob is kinda bulging out more? I am under the impression it could be my stomach organ squishing out or something, lol...

There isn't really any pain and it is more prominent when I am having bad gas pain/constipation backup/bloating and I feel gurgles sometimes. And when I lay down on my left side. Can large enough fibroids (multiple) cause this? MRI of my fibroids included for context of sizes.

Marked fibroid sizes: 5cm, 5cm, 6.5cm and 12cm Am told uterus is enlarged to about a 6 month pregnancy.

How do you cope

I finally was able to see my MRI pictures... How do you cope until surgery. 😭 I wasn't having too many symptoms until I'd say 3 weeks ago, now I'm having gastro pain almost everyday and I just don't know what to do. Bloat (especially left sided) and pressure and pain/back pain. I don't even have a surgery date (hysterectomy) yet so I don't even have a day to look forward too and don't know how long I am going to have to endure this and my health anxiety is through the roof and sometimes I just sit and cry because what the heck else do I do.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just scared of something bad happening (my anxiety talking) I'm also scared of surgery, I've never had any before and I'm frustrated that I signed consent forms April 27th and still have no date booked. (I'm in Canada) I've already complained to my doctor just the other day but unfortunately unless it's an emergency there is nothing they can do to speed up the surgery date.

UPDATE: I got my surgery date finally, on August 12!!!

Can fibroids cause this?

Sorry for the picture, I hate my belly, lmao. But anyways I noticed a couple days ago on the RIGHT side of my middle belly (I circled it here) that there is like a spot that "sticks out". The other picture is my fibroid sizes from April, I have to assume they have continued to grow since then. Another spot that sticks out to me is just below my boob on my left side as well, I assume it's my stomach. I've been dealing with extra gastro issues over the past two weeks.

I did go for an ultrasound this week and it showed nothing abnormal. So I guess I just want to know if the fibroids continuing to grow could cause this kind of thing? Or gastro? I still have no surgery date and my health anxiety is destroying me.

Thank you...
