Flutters and strange chest sensations
33M with years of on and off heart palpitations
I’ve had every test 2-3 years ago - 7 day holter - stress test - echo- many EKG’s.
Last night I had a crazy episode, was lying flat about to sleep and it felt like I got kicked in the chest and throat, it lasted for a few seconds so I checked my pulse, it was quite erratic for what I could tell and very fast, I’d say 130-160 bpm, then slowed down, then fast again and then slowly tapered off to normal again. No doctor is ever concerned and no matter how many times I tell myself it passes, it freaks me out to no extent. I’ve never had a crazy episode while on a monitor but I’ve had small palpitations they’ve caught but very low burden. Doctor suspected I could have went into svt but it was just a strange heart beat after my chest and throat had the crazy flutter and thump. How do I move forward and not panic? I’m terrified everytime this happens I am going to drop dead and it consumes me. Especially when I feel so funny after the fact, and I do have bad anxiety and feel faint and funny for a while after the episodes. Doctors assure me over and over I’m fine and to just ride it out and not keep checking my pulse because it creates anxiety, but my mind goes to “what was that” over and over. How do I let it go and know I’m safe? And what could these episodes even be? Could simple adrenaline and panic cause my heart to beat erratic after I feel the quick thump? Thanks all for reading. Any tips appreciated
