Photos from Kungsleden North on early September

We hiked in reverse from Vakkotavare to Abisko, camping everyday, sometimes wild camping, sometimes near the huts. We also did a little detour to the Kebnekaise hut, where we spent 2 nights to climb the peak. That took us 9 days over 150km.

This may be one of the best hikes for those who enjoy wild camping. Endless opportunities along the way, and the fact you can restock supplies in some of the huts make it easier. We started with enough food for 3 days, and we mapped the huts on our way with shops, so we knew exactly where we could buy more.

The Kebnekaise summit was also a nice extra chapter we added to our trip. We almost abandoned the plan because the weather forecast was very rainy, but we decided to give a try and we started at 4am to avoid the heaviest rain. At the top it started to rain, but since the temperature was negative it turned into snow. We had the peak only for us, which seems very rare, but we didn't last so long up there cause it was freezing. We were probably the first ones to make to the top that day, cause we didn't cross with anyone on our way up, then when we started our way down everyone would ask if we made to the top, cause it was still 10am and they would have just started.

We didn't have much sunshine, but we had good rain proof gears, including a Goretex boots, and we were very happy with our gears. We would cross the rivers and just walk with the boots and on the other end we still had our feet dry.

Here is a silent hiking film from our adventure in case you like to watch people walking with ambient music ;P https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJR5CfAP9uU

Photos from the Iso Karhunkierros trail this summer

I'm still amazed by all the wilderness installations along the route. I was gonna camp all nights, but I was surprised how cozy and nice these wilderness huts (Autiotupa) were and ended up sleeping in 2, and one of them had a private double room even! haha

It was a great hike! The nature and the wilderness in Finland is so beautiful, and kind of make you pay attention in the little details, like the berries and mushrooms along the way.

How to treat reindeer antlers

Found this beautiful pair of antlers on a hike. I wonder if I should/need to do some treatment and use some specific products to conserve it. Any recommendations?

Also, while I'm still in Rovaniemi, does anyone recommend a shop here where I could make a frame or a wooden mount for them?

Shower at huts without a sauna

Just completed the northern section and we did only wild camping or camping next to huts with a sauna. It was a good surprise to see there is actually a way to have a "shower" in the sauna buildings. I wonder though if something similar exists too in the huts without a sauna.

If you stayed in a hut without a sauna, was there any building/room to wash yourself and a system to heat up some water?

Long-term parking in Gällivare

We are driving tomorrow from Finland to Gällivare, and the plan is to leave the car there and take the bus to the trailhead in Vakkotavare. I just saw though that the long-term parking in Gällivare is for 4 days max.

Anyone has had any problems leaving the car there for longer?
Is there any other places in the village where I could leave the car for 10 days?

What are you doing to get client feedbacks?

I've built an app that has been selling consistently since I've launched. People are buying it, using it, but I'm struggling to get feedback from them.

Right now, I set up this automation to send an email 3 days after the purchase, with a link to a feedback form on Fillout. It's only 5 questions, with one being for a public review. Some people even buy more than 1 product, and still doesn't give me a feedback.

From 140 sales, I managed to get only 6 feedbacks so far. I wonder if this is a normal rate, or what should I do different to get more answers. Since my app is still on a early stage (5 months), I feel we are missing a lot here.

How do you collect feedbacks from your clients? Any tool or approach recommendations are appreciated.

3 days solo hiking in the Pyrenees

Sharing the video my partner made of a 4-day route through the Pyrenees. She loved the route, which passes through 3 mountain huts and crosses the border into France, going through beautiful spots like Vall de Núria and Carançà. There was still snow in the mountains, and the rivers were running strong.

Am I the only one who thinks the Pyrenees are a bit underrated?

Lac des Bouillouses, Pyrenees, France

Few photos from a little hike on the French side of the Eastern Pyrenees. It's actually a great time to be up there. The snowmelt means plenty of water running through the mountains, creating beautiful rivers and waterfalls all along the way.
