I recently bought a chiller, inflatable combo from Costco and the manufacturer told me the chiller has a circulation pump rated for 25L per minute with an operating flow of 15L (4 gallons) per minute. If I buy a pump using the rule of 3-4x my water volume, 150 gallons x3 would require a pump capable of approximately 450 gallons per hour. 

My question is, would my 1/2 HP chiller work If I’m pushing 450 gallons per hour through it? Can I simply drop a pump into the plunge to circulate the water and keep it moving while the chillers pump system circulates and filters at 4 gallons per minute? Does the pump need to be inline?

What’s the best way to attack this?
