A fine shave this night
The old Gillette behaved and I had a lovely couple of passes : wtg/xtg
The silver blue was sharp, brush was good as always and the old spice Tobs Sandlewood combo whilst getting a bit repetitive - still working well

Nice to take one quick pass today when I could - wtg, really looking forward to all me razors and soaps now 😅
Not fed up with the combo of Tobs sandalwood/old spice per se - they both perform fantastically but the overall spice scent is quite one sided and I'm very much looking forward to some Royal Forrest/MDC Fougère, Cella amongst others for the variety.

Very nice indeed: fresh SB blade, warm water, plenty of time lathering up then 1 across the grain pass and a cold water splash, lovely.

Getting back to this old Gillette after the weekend - with the Colorlamb, was a nice reminder of just how close a shave i can get with this compared.

Finally made it to the weekend and was very happy to see the Colorlamb SE this evening. After almost a week of improving technique with the Gillette FBN it went and gave me a naff shave last night so the change today was welcome heheh.
It's a decent little thing for what it is and I enjoy the sound, very reminiscent of an Ever-Ready scraping away.
Warm water to lather up then cold water splashes in-between passes - wtg xtg-x2.
Lovely day out in the sun today, some ice-cream was had : blue sherbet dipped sundae 👌
Took a photo of the awesome isle of wight hovercraft as it came in👍

A fresh blade was required for tonight's shave, 6 uses seems to be enough for me and this old Gillette isn't very forgiving at all!
Give it a reason to misbehave and it will take it all day long😄
So it was nice to be reminded just how efficient a fresh SB is.

After we had a morning of chores/getting things done around the house, and a bit of time for reflection I thought I'd get fresh with my AA weekend razor the colorlamb - made in China and SE.
It's a nifty little razor and I almost picked it for the week but decided (as I already get on well with this) I'll pick the old Gillette FB New instead and make it more of a challenge.
I had 3 well lathered passes wtg/xtg-x2, with the Tobs Sandlewood being nice and thick with a dash of water once on the face 👌 Lovely.

Hi all I hope you're well, here's my setup - Going for the difficult mode but i haven't done aa before so wasn't sure if that means one blade all month or just one brand - so I settled on Silver Blues and will see how many shaves I can get out of one then just carry on with them.
For the razor I went for currently my least favourite to use - the 7'oclock pattern/ Gillette flat bottom 'NEW' - being open comb, lightweight and head heavy this thing has sat for quite a while unused (I just haven't learnt what it likes and it takes it out on me heheh)
The soap is the Tobs Sandlewood and Old Spice because they go well together
Yaqi 22mm cola bottle synthetic brush because it's new to me and finally I have the Colorlamb SE as a bit of weekend hardware, mainly for if I want to shave my head.
The first shave (wtg/xtg-x2) was as expected a bit rough heheh, no redness but was a tad tender on the neck during and immediately after.
Hoping to learn what the razor wants mainly, currently it's harsh and unergonomic👍

Going to knuckle down and use a lesser known Gillette model for the month of august.
This was a lovely spiced shave with a fresh Super blue blade, Tobs Sandlewood, my custom 21mm synthetic socket brush, Old Spice and of course the superb 1960 adjustable on setting 7 then 9 for a touchup. 👍

My shave this morning was much needed, face was like sandpaper this morning from no shave yesterday - and irritable, so I knew what I needed - the gentile yet efficient 1912 and Royal Forrest, such a lovely refreshing scent.
The GEM blade - now on its sixth use, is still going strong I'm happy to say. And come to think of it - has made its way around a bit and had a go in all my ER razors.
Yaqi 22mm cola bottle brush has been a joy since I got it and and of course a nice splash of Brüt to finish up

The 1952 tech up for a shave tonight, much needed haven't been able to shake off a stuffy agitated feeling today - until now at least!
DIAMOND EDGE Indian made blades are new to me and quite intriguing as I found the first 2 passes sharp enough but draggy yet not unpleasant and then the 3rd very nice 🤷♂️
Cella was lovely and sweet and the sierran breeze went well enough with it
Overall jobs a good'un, and a decent tech Tuesday
