Great figure, great quality. Feels super solid. I’m not a huge fan of the base form face sculpts because they look cartoonishly sinister but rose form looks awesome! Great value for the then $60 i paid for it.

My demoniacal fit dragon blaster came in so I decided to do a comparison between the most common SSJ3 Goku’s. The ones being compared are the Demoniacal Fit version as it comes out of the box. The Sai Spirit Workshop SS3 head sculpt on the games being body, the ZD04 SS3 Goku head sculpt on the games begin body, and the Kong Studio SS3 Goku.
DF is definitely a different take compared to the others with its muted colors and shorter hair with less volume but the face sculpts look great and actually look like Goku, the martialist forget body is aging but is still pretty good. It’s the only one where the hair isn’t unmanageable.
SSW is the most expensive iteration you can get out of the 4. The hair is super stylized and painted. It can chip if you’re not careful. The lighting makes it look a lot glossier than it looks in person but honestly it’s a great head sculpt with amazing details and extras. The hair is nicely articulated but still heavy and requires extensive use of a stand just to keep him standing neutrally. Whether it’s with the money or not is up to you but it’s easily the most premium options. Prepare to struggle with the games begin goku body managing the extra weight.
Prior to DF, ZD (or Jesse) + games begin Goku was probably the best bang for the buck ss3 Goku you could get. If you don’t like the DF hair, this is probably the one you should get. It has a lot of the same issues as the SSW but worse because the shirt is even heavier and less articulated. The face options are terrible however and you essentially get 3 of the same face, none of which are gritted teeth or screaming. You will need atleast a conversion peg to allow for 2.0 heads, and add customs makes a custom peg and socket that adds some articulation to the neck.
Kong is the word option out of the list. The hair is styled weird, the face sculpts and the hair come together and make it not look like Goku. The paint work is well done, the hair is articulated but it’s not enough to salvage this figure in the face of the other options. Functionally it works pretty well on a stand but mine does have some quality issues. Including loose joints.
That’s my quick evaluation! Some folks may disagree because they have different aesthetic preferences than I do, which is okay.
