Got termed today

Today’s my last day at the job I’ve been at for 7.5 years. It’s the place where I began building my career and I’ve loved working there. Feels fucking awful that I have to lose it bc of something so out of my control. I feel both so numb and infuriated at the same time. Silver lining is that they want me back as soon as my renewal is approved, so I’m grateful for that, at least, but fucking hell this shit hurts

Don’t add guilt to your grief

Not a rant but just something I saw that made me feel validated and maybe will help some of you, too. We’re allowed to grieve all that we are losing because of something so completely out of our control. It’s a commendable thing about our community that we can come up against unimaginable hurdles and keep pushing forward, but we are allowed to be frustrated and sad and hurting that we keep needing to face these experiences. As long as tomorrow comes, we’ll all keep trying, but the negative feelings are all valid and it’s okay to make space for them and feel them without being guilty about it. We’re all only human.

Renewal with an active removal order

Totally understand if people don’t feel comfortable answering this and I’ll delete this anyway, but has anyone who has gotten their renewal this time around specifically also have an active or not-dismissed/administratively closed removal order?

Don’t renew on a Sunday 🙃

I’ve been looking at the approval dates on the update mega thread and I’ve noticed that very few Sunday submissions are listed. Maybe it’s common knowledge to not renew on a wknd and I missed out, but in case anyone is like me, if you’re planning to renew soon, don’t do it on a Sunday 💀

API movement after an online expedite request

I filed an online expedite request a few days ago and when I checked API movement this morning, for the very first time since submitting, I saw a change that the case was touched on the same date I filed my expedite. But I never received any acknowledgment or denial of my request. Idk if this is a coincidence that they’re on the same date or what. Did anyone else experience this? And I know atp API movement may literally mean nothing, but it was better than seeing the exact same thing day in and day out for months 😮‍💨

Does expedite request take you out of the queue?

Not sure how accurate this is but has anyone else heard that if you put in an inquiry or expedite request, it may put your case at the end of the line again (wtv tf the line is atp)?

No API movement since filing for March/April?

First time posting here so pls be gentle fam, but I’ve been reading a lot about API movement on this sub and wanted to ask, has anyone not seen any update at all, hidden or api or otherwise, since their bios? I filed in March and had my bios in April. I have a bit of time left until my expiry but just wanted to gauge what other people’s experience who filed around the same time as me has been with this.
