35 female with LDL of 180. My mom has been on a statin since she was 40. She is 74 now and in perfect health thankfully. My cholesterol has been high since like 2018 and has steadily climbed. I just got prescribed my first statin, and just took my first dose. Really hoping for minor or no side effects. I have very bad anxiety (medicated for it) and worry about all the what-ifs. Wish me luck. Anyone had good experience with this med ? She told me if this doesn’t work out for me there are others we can try.

I had a 10 cm fibroid inside my uterus removed via lap myomectomy on April 8th. I have been on hormonal birth control for years to control my terrible periods. Got routine scans for the fibroid. Once it got this big and was pressing on my bladder and other organs, I was told it needed to come out. I stopped taking hormonal birth control after my surgery cuz I’ve been told estrogen can make them grow, I’m surprised how much better I feel being off the pill and it’s only been 3 weeks. Got my first period off the pill and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Overall I’m really glad I got the surgery.
