I got accepted into REU this summer and it starts next week! I'm kind of scared it's going to be run like the military where if I make a mistake, they'll stone me 😞 I'm scared I'm going to be expected to know everything about my major, plus more. Are they like super strict (idk if that's the right word) in general? Is it based on the mentor/work I'll be doing?

I'm really nervous for it because it's my first REU as well as my first time doing ANYTHING outside of my own university, and I'll be the furthest away from home I've ever been. I just want to maybe get a better sense of the environment before I actually get there! Thank you!
