Heat damage pixel 8

My Google Pixel 8 accidentally got exposed to heat on a glass stove and now I’m trying to figure out if it’s repairable or dangerous to keep using.

What happened:

  • Somehow the glass stove turned on without me realizing.
  • My phone was lying on it for some time.
  • The camera protector melted externally, but I also noticed internal changes in both rear cameras.

Current symptoms:

  • Both rear camera lenses now look blurry/white/bubbly internally.
  • Rear camera image is distorted and blurry.
  • Front camera still works perfectly.
  • Phone still turns on and functions normally.
  • Initially it only heated while using the camera app, but now it warms up whenever the phone is on.

Things I checked:

  • No visible battery swelling.
  • No smoke or burning smell.
  • Screen and touchscreen work normally.
  • No shutdowns so far.

I’m a student, so I’m trying to figure out the cheapest reasonable option.

Questions:

  1. Does this sound like only rear camera module damage, or could the motherboard/battery also be affected?
  2. Has anyone seen internal “bubbly/foggy” camera damage like this after heat exposure?
  3. Is cleaning sometimes possible, or do the rear camera modules usually need replacement?
  4. Would you trust cheaper aftermarket camera modules, or should I only use OEM/genuine parts?
  5. Is it safe to continue using the phone temporarily if there’s no swelling/smoke?

I’d really appreciate any advice or similar experiences.
